Batch Mode Testing -  The  Computer Diagnostic Software examines  the computer in  test groups. Test groups include Motherboard, Memory, Video, Fixed Disk, CD, Floppy Disk, Video, Serial, Parallel, USB, Year 2000, Mouse, Joystick, and Keyboard.

You may run a group or individually selected tests in a group, then run single or multiple passes for either an amount of time per test, amount of time for the group, or number of passes for each test. Test time can be up to 100 hours (four days plus four hours).

You may also select Batch Mode testing and save the test parameters in a batch mode file.  Batch mode testing is also called "burn-in" testing because it runs continuously for a long time and heats up the circuitry. Batch mode tests can simulate a month of normal operation in just a few hours of intensive exercising.

When creating a batch mode file, you can select any test in any group,  then select which devices are to be tested (e.g., which hard drives if you have multiple drives),  you may then select the amount of time or passes for the tests, elect to exit the program and return to the operating system when testing is done (so as to run other functions in AUTOEXEC.BAT, for example), and elect the destination of the test log (full log or just summary, to go to printer or file). You may even elect to put the Snapshot Configuration report in the beginning of the log and customize a header and footer for the report.

An important feature for systems builders who burn-in many systems at once is the dynamic test result display. The software can be set to halt on a failure or run continuously. If a failure does not lock up the system, then the monitor, if attached, will display a large, red FAIL message, and the floppy drive LED will flash rapidly. This will alert a technician across the room that a failure has occurred.

Batch Mode testing is a very powerful way to burn-in test a system after repair or before shipping a new system to a customer, for it provokes any imminent "infant mortality" failures while in the shop, rather than in the customer's home or office, and it thereby reduces warranty costs for both the customer and PC technician or builder.

Full Logging of Configuration and Test Results -  The  Computer Diagnostic Software videos through log features to record your test results and configuration information. Log to the printer directly, to a disk file of choice, or just to internal memory. Elect to log only the testing summary showing number of passes and number of failures for each test, or each iteration of each test in a batch mode burn-in test sequence, plus the summary. Because you can log configuration information, you have a handy record to use to verify the customer's system if it is returned for service. See a sample annotated batch mode burn-in Test Log here.

Snapshot Configuration Report - Only our  Computer Diagnostic Software contains the Snapshot Configuration Report. All the reporting features of  the Professional Diagnostic Info-Spotter Snapshot are built into the Diagnostic Software. Click on Info-Spotter Snapshot Report to see a sample printout and how to set up the report.

How does it work?

Power down your motherboard, insert the card into the slot you want to use either ISA or PCI.

Power up the PC. The first thing to look at is the LEDS across the TOP.

If you have VOLTAGE from your power supply, all 12V and 5V LEDs should be LIT UP, except -5VOLTS if your card is plugged into PCI. If your card is plugged into the ISA slot, then all LEDs should be LIT UP.

If you have a CLK LED on, then your motherboard clock gen is running ok.

If you have a OSC LED on, then main board power on signal from power supply is OK.

If you have a BIOS LED (BLINKING or ON), then your board is attempting to POST. Watch the HEX CODES.

If that BIOS LED is (NOT BLINKING or OFF), your BIOS my be bad, erased, corrupt or your board is DOA. If this happens, you motherboard will not display any HEX CODES.

Generally the CODE will be "00" or "FF" for fried boards or dead BIOS. <----READ THIS THREE TIMES

However if you have a BLINKING BIOS LED, then watch the HEX CODES.

PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE:
  • Even though the board sucessfully BOOTS and you still see a HEX CODE, that does not mean your board is broken.

The HEX code display the LAST ACTION of the bios. If the last thing the BIOS told the motherboard to do was turn on the keyboard interface, then that HEX will remain on the LED readout.

Media Tools is a professional Data Recovery, Diagnostic Software, Cloning, Imaging program.

Media Tools was designed to easily manipulate and recover many types of media. It gives you the low-level control you need to handle failing or damaged media. Download for FREE to find out what type of problem your hard drive or removable media may have. If Media Tools does not find any physical or mechanical problems, then you know you have a logical file system problem. If this is the case, you may qualify for our Data Recovery Preferred Pricing Program.

Media Tools is a data recovery tool that works at the sector level directly with the hardware containing the data. It looks at the physical media and enables you to automatically repair the file system components and also will allow you to recover individual files.

Media Tools III has been re-written from the ground up. All algorithms have been enhanced along with new added functionality. Our other program, (BPR) Boot / Partition Repair, has been integrated into Media Tools. You now have the functionality of both programs in one.

Media Tools will allow you to:
. Test the surface and current status of your media.
. Recover from both IDE and SCSI hard drives.
. Recover from Zip, Jaz, Syquest and other removable media.
. Access any hard drive that is larger than 8.4GB.
. Gain access to a hard drive when the Bios will not recognize it.
. Automatically repair the Boot Sector and Partition Table for FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS file systems (Same function as BPR).
. Mount FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32 drives logically in memory.
. Copy files off a mounted FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32 drive to another drive.
. Search the media and build lists of system components (Boot Sectors, Partitions, FATs, Files, Directories, NTFS File Records, etc.).
. Manually repair the file system components.
. View and edit any sector.
. Work around bad areas of the media.
. Extract data even if the media is corrupt.
. Create an exact duplicate of the original media.
. Create an image file of the entire media to be archived.
. Write image files over a network.
. Write image files to Zip/Jaz/Syquest and other removable media.
. Perform search functions to locate anything.
. Create detailed reports for any of the processes run.
    . Use MD5 (Message Digest 5) authentication.
. Sanitize every sector so that no data exists on the media.
. Secure wipe the media at the level the Department of Defense requires.
. Compare and verify that any selected process was actually completed.
    . And much more!

Media Tools should be the first course of action, even on media that is not failing. Media Tools has been designed by our Clean Room Engineers, and now you can use some of the same basic functions. It will be difficult for you to find another program on the market with the same low-level capability. We want you to understand the proper way to handle any media before attempting any file system reconstruction, as this is the biggest problem we see. If you are going to attempt recovery yourself, you should have a tool that will allow you the greatest safety and control.

Media Tools is composed of many modules.
    . Cloning
    . Imaging
    . Analyze Layout
    . Media Editor
    . Media Wipe

    Media Cloning
Cloning will allow you to create an exact physical copy of the media, disk to disk, even if it is failing! Cloning will give you the control to get below unreadable sectors and extract any remaining data. Media Tools by-passes the 8.4GB barrier! You can clone any size media.

Cloning the media is the most important step when performing data recovery or investigations. This will allow you to create a safe environment without the concern of altering or damaging the original media.

    Media Imaging
Imaging is similar to cloning in that it will create an exact physical copy of the original media but it will be saved to a file. You can write this file compressed or uncompressed. Use this to archive media and then restore to another media. You can save the file volume to another local drive, network drive, or removable media.

The entire image file can be restored or any portion of the image file. If you make changes to any sector and the results are not what you expect, you can restore just the sectors that you need from the image file. The Imaging function will allow you to pre-determine the size of image files. As an example, you can create 640MB image files and then burn the images to CDR.

    Analyze Layout
Searching for file system components is the main function of this module. Once the scanning is complete you will be presented with choices to either Tree FAT/NTFS Drive, Mount in Media Editor, or Repair Boot Partition. It will automatically create a Directory Tree Structure of any FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS file system and recover any and all directories and files to another destination (same as frTREE). It will allow you to mount any FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS file system logically in memory. Also there is the option to repair the boot sector and partition table for FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS formatted hard drives and removable media (same as BPR).

    Media Editor
The Media Editor is friendly but powerful. You can view or modify any sector in a safe environment. This is critical for performing data recovery or functions.

The Media Editor is not just your standard hex editor. It will allow you to search for different file system components and make any repairs that are needed. View sectors not just as Hex but also as a partition table, boot sector, FAT, directory, and more. There is no need to translate Hex because the program does it for you. In the current version of the program. You will be able to mount FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS file systems logically and then make repairs to the components of the file system.

Media Editor has many search functions for your investigation of the media. You can search for many file system components (Partition Table, NTFS or FAT Boot Sectors, FATs, Directories, Files, and more). You can also search for any text or hex string. You will be able to find anything you are looking for. You can also create detailed reports as to any search results.

    Media Wipe
Media Wipe will do a full sanitation of hard drives and removable media. Every physical byte of the media will be overwritten with whatever pattern you choose. You also have the choice to secure wipe the media at the level the US Department of Defense requires.

We have many requests for a tool that will sanitize hard drives and other media. Media Wipe will complete this task in minutes instead of hours. Large corporations are faced with having to trade in their fleet of leased computers. All these systems have hard drives with data that should not be seen by others. Once Media Wipe has been run, all data from every sector will have been eliminated. Since the advancement of the World Wide Web and exchanging of information, security of data has become a challenge for all.

Why you should buy our  Data Recovery & Computer Diagnostic Software ( Master PC Diagnostics IT Kit) - We have many gratified and prestigious customers who rely on our Diagnostic Software day in and day out to help them test and troubleshoot their computers. Due to the abundance of  PC hardware manufactures worldwide, along with the lack of industry controls and standards, it would be impossible to assume that any one Computer Diagnostic Software would be able to troubleshoot and assist in repairing all existing hardware failures. Therefore, no one single troubleshooting tool will always be capable of diagnosing all hardware failures and cannot be expected to locate and perform at its best in all computer related hardware diagnostic situations.

In conclusion, this is why it is crucial that anyone attempting to diagnose and troubleshoot computers carry more than one Computer Diagnostic Tool in their arsenal. You can be assured that the line of computer diagnostics we carry will compliment any and all situations, plus more than pay for itself many times over.  That is why some of the largest companies in the United States have chosen our diagnostics. The American electronics and computer retailer Best Buy uses our diagnostics throughout hundreds of locations and service departments  in North America.
