Q: What operating systems are compatible with PC-Diag USB?

PC-Diag USB is a DOS based diagnostic application for USB host controllers and devices. You will boot from a floppy disk and do not have to have a certain operating system installed on your PC.

Q: Does this application require a special USB loopback?

No, this application can work with virtually any USB device. You do not have to acquire an expensive USB loopback! Most of the tests work even with a simple USB mouse.

Q: What tests work with my USB devices?

First, the application will inquire your device about its capabilities, and then execute only the tests that work with that device.

Q: What host controller can be tested with this application?

You can test UHCI, OHCI and EHCI (high speed USB) host controllers.

Q: My computer does not boot in DOS mode, it always starts in Windows?

Make sure you have the special floppy disk in your unit and then restart. If the computer starts in Windows, then you have to restart your computer and edit your BIOS information (usually press DEL while booting). Here you have to set the boot order. Put Floppy Drive as first boot device.
